Paula Windust – An Installation including a number of framed photographs, (3 frames approx 100cms X 70cms, 3 frames approx 60cms 40cms) a plinth with a printed book and two dressed mannequins.
The work is a fine art project examining the roles of women in society entitled ‘This woman’s work’. The student has taken on the images of a series of iconic, historic and everyday women in a series of photographic portraits. Made up to interpret and explore the various guises she ponders the viewers perceptions of women in society. Brought together in a book of collected portraits she has also comments on the way dress can indicate roles by screen printing multiple portraits onto single garments. This is a challenging, thoughtful and arresting project which has achieved a Distinction outcome on the FAD Course in Cardiff & Vale College.
