Distinctive Foundation Final Major Project

Inspired by ice cream sundaes and my family’s seaside holidays in the 1960s and 1970s, my goal was to create a British Summer Holiday Style Collection that will evoke the viewer’s personal memories and create an escape from day-to-day life. After looking through family holiday snaps, I came across the idea of a beach hut as the archetypal British holiday scene. I screen printed and embroidered a collection of decorative surface pattern designs that are interchangeable and complement one another, appealing to a market in which homeowners aspire to a more quirky, individual stylized design.
